My super set connected and its a good thing I had 2 in because the first one got plugged with a bonus muskrat and the second one scored my second otter of my Indiana 2 otter limit.
Fun day!

Thanks Guys, I was pleasantly surprised this morning. The water level just keeps dropping now that the reservoirs that dump into the river are at winter levels and we have not had any rain. I had to dig a trench with my foot in the center of the channel so they had to swim through the traps. Crazy year drought wise.

I knew a 70 year old man all crippled up who considered himself a failure if he didn't catch 30/season here in Virginia. I'm sure some catch more than that some seasons. This old timer did it every year for 35 years straight. I'm thinking that we have more otters than what you have Indiana. I am glad to hear that they they at least have a season on them. Maybe once they figure out what their population actually is, they will allow more per season. They could use data collected from trapper success compared to effort exhibited.

Congrats! I still remember how excited I was first otter I ever caught. Oregon has no limit and after examining harvest data and aging teeth the last many years it has been determined that our otter population continues to thrive.

My best season was 74 back around 2004 or 5 when the Chinese were paying good.

I am 66 so I feel like the old man you are talking about. They reintroduced them here and I caught 5 one year before we had a season. Had to give them to the DNR, couldn't wait until we could keep them.

I was smart enough to buy a lifetime hunting and fishing license when our state offered them. Paid for itself a long time ago. So I am hunting and fishing for free. I still have to buy a trapping license.
