How do you make wax dirt?

Best way is in a cement mixer with a weed burner. Plenty of YouTube videos on how to do it. Small batches can be made on a stove. Summertime you can use the solar method.
Sometimes nothing can be a real cool hand

But its not easier to just buy flaked or what? Sure, but more expensive.

Also is it the same wax you use to wax traps?

Blocks? How do you mix it with the dirt? Use a small box woodworker plane or draw knives to peel thin ribbons of wax off the edge of the block. The ribbons will break up with handling. Bought my box plane for $2.00 as a rummage sale. Get the dirt or sand dry and warm (not hot) before adding wax. Waxed sand uses less wax and beds better than waxed dirt. Depending on trapping ground there may be a color mismatch. Ground duff or light covering of local dirt will cover any mismatch.

Spouse made about 5 gallons or so last weekend on the grill. I had him put a foil pan inside the stainless roasting pan he used over the lower burner setting and he just stirred it while it warned up. He does about a gallon at a time and it takes about 30 minutes to make it. He goes by the color change to know when it's ready. He then spreads it out on a board to cool. Having the double pans helps to not scorch it as easily too.
He uses the flake wax too.

Are those stainless roasting pans cookie sheets/stainless pans or a special roasting pan?
