Just get a piece of 6-8" or so PVC and cut it to the length that you want so that you don't have to bend over real far. Taper the top of it enough so that the head will slide down onto it pretty well and you are ready to go. I just brace the bottom of mine against a wall, post, ground or whatever when fleshing. It is totally portable that way. Works for me.

I am looking at buying a fleshing board, is it not worth ir for me to shell out 80.00 for a board? Doest the PVC work just as well, any problems with it?

The PVC looks a lot like mine, except that the top end on mine is rounded and then tapered more toward the body of it to allow for the head to fit on a little farther. Good pic.

Man that looks nice, I think I will try that before I go and buy a board.

Yes, but taper it if you haven't handled a lot of fur so you don't have to double it. It's easy to put holes in them if they are doubled. Make sure there is nothing stuck in the fur that would cause a bump that your knife would hit. Make sure there are no creases or folds in the part of the pelt under the section you're fleshing.
