How long can I keep them frozen while before I need to skin them? Marten and fox. Real busy but will get to it soon as possible.

Marten should be ok for a week or two, anyway. Might have freezer burn on tip of tail.

Just doing what I want now.

A much, much better option is to rough skin right away and then freeze just the pelt. Rough skinning shouldn’t take long. Less than 10 minutes on a marten. Pelts thaw faster than carcasses, especially on a large animal like a fox. And pelts take up less space in the freezer.

If you do freeze on the cars, you should separate with carcasses with newspaper or something that will, prevent the carcasses from freezing together.

Only takes a couple minutes to skin marten and fox.
You will be way further ahead to skin and freeze the skins, instead of all the freezing thawing time involved with whole animals that will be extra wasted time, unless they are already frozen solid when harvested.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

I have no experience with frozen carcasses other than rats. I skinned and fleshed a few hundred for a person about 10 years ago. They were all frozen and the task of thawing, then skinning was much more difficult then when skinned fresh. The rat carcasses pull apart so easy after freezing that it make skinning twice if not more longer per rat. As stated above I would try to skin if I could. That is from a fur aspect. If you are saving for say taxadermy other other reasons then that may change for you.
