It's become obvious our country as we know it is over and done. Beyond the election integrity, no accountability when the government people break the law, fast and furious, Hillary email server, the steel dossier, and on and on. The beyond belief liberal stuff being pushed.
None of that come close to what I see on display here.
Union vs non union, thermal hunters need regulated becuse they may take some coyotes and trappers won't get them. You chose to live in NY and are horrible for it without even considering if they would be willing to move from their home or the fact up state NY is an outdoorsbman paradise. When people are so dug in they can't even consider the other side and want to act like what's on display here in a primarily down to earth supposed to be like minded freedom loving group. Well from what I see here from this group of people I respect and look up to more than any other group then there is no hope for the rest of the country.

Actually, I followed the Union vs non union thread and found it to be a fairly civil discussion with opposing view points. That's how free speech is supposed to work. Would you prefer some moderator shut down one side or the other so we only heard the "correct" opinion? No the thread is fine. It's th mentality of some of the posters and how blind they are. Same thing with the guy wanting more regulations for thermal hunting. Completely about me me me. No concept of maybe there is a benefit to having both. Just Completely disappointing.

Well from what I see here from this group of people I respect and look up to more than any other group then there is no hope for the rest of the country. It's a trapping forum, it's not a thermal hunting forum and the fact of the matter is that thermal hunters take away dollars from ADC trappers. It's no different than a union boss ensuring that union workers get a guaranteed slice of the pie, exactly what I am doing and going to keep doing until trappers get their slice of pie guaranteed, and unchallenged for years to come. If this was a thermal hunting forum, I would have got booted off rather quickly for saying that the opposite and defending trapping especially since for them trappers are a boon to their payday to payoff their thermal scope. I cut my teeth in hunting and will always have a love for that world, but I'm a trapper through and through. If I have to make people upset defending the greatest lifestyle to ever exist in the world, won't be the first and wont be the last. I also happen to be a very dedicated conservationist and I think that outside of hogs and high fence game preserves, there is no fair chase or sportsmanship in shooting coyotes at night. High Fence, Game Preserves do more and have done more for conservation than almost all of the other "actual conservation" groups do combined, and so in that sense if they want to blast coyotes or any other animal at night using thermals until they die of old age, they have more than earned their right by propagating countless other animal species that would have gone extinct if not for them. Shame on you for comparing my opinion about thermal hunting coyotes to even coming close to some of the most corrupt government officials to exist in the history of our country. I should send your legislature and game commission a very convincing opinion with lots of supporting studies and recommendations for them to consider banning coyote hunting with thermals in Indiana for that statement. Instead I will rise above your slant against me and send them a pro trapping message and how they should reduce your personal otter limit to 1 instead of 2. I'm not sorry for what I said and will stand by it forever and always no matter what.

Either trappers up their game and prove they bring more to the table of value to land owners. After all trappers will always be more productive. Funny how you rag on unions but Want daddy government to step in and and shut down and limit picking the winners and looser. You can't see the hypocrisy. Only its worse you want to eliminate people's choices. People have a choice to join a union or not.

Shut -up Boco. Yes - We as a nation are done. Please forgive some of our intolerance - Those of us who have lived in liberal states for long enough are saying that enough is enough - if you are not for me then you ARE against me. I have waited patiently for the "pendulem to swing" for over 35 years -- it has not moved (except to the left) in 35 years. I am over it -- lets crash this thing and start over -- let the bodies lie where they may. You shut up.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Lol… Thermals, ya still gotta shoot the thing, traps hunt 24/7. Don’t see how night hunters could be more productive. But I think I’m off topic….

Hey man, are you ok? I ask that with sincerity and true concern. There is not a post on trapperman or anywhere else where you will find a negative post from Matthew Deinhardt aka MattLA about unions outside the teachers union. My family is filled with union legends and have been involved in unions since the 1900s when unions first came about. My grandfather ran against Jimmy Hoffa for President of the Teamsters and was booted from the Teamsters by him and his cronies. I dont think you do because all the big wig bosses live in New York, but if you happen to know somebody high up in the Teamsters ask about William "Bill " Deinhardt from the 50s until he died in 1973. Whatever stress you have man, take a breath, and step away from the computer. Spend some time with your family and appreciate how lucky we are to have this great life.

I probably got you mixed up with someone else on the union thread sorry. But you stance on wanting restrictions on one group becuse it's not your thing and in competition with it is as disturbing as the hunters that want trapping eliminated. They roll in their ignorance not understanding trapping helps the game population they are hunting. There is room for us all. Bow hunter don't like x bow hunters or rifle hunters and BP hunters. To much infighting when we should be working together. Our numbers get lower each year and the uneducated antis grow. And that's my point of this post. When the salt of the earth group can't get along ther is no hope for the rest of the country.

There is no "probably", but I appreciate your apology. Im still sending the email to your legislature and game commission, but ill exclude the otter deduction. There are 1000 other ways to kill animals, the only basis for thermal hunting has been the past 20 years, there was guys before but very few. It has nothing to do with its not my thing, it takes away from trappers no matter how you slice it and it has zero fair chase about it. High fence, game preserves are excluded from this.
There are more hunters in the USA than anywhere else in the world and there are more hunters than any other time in history. Thermal hunting coyotes is an extremely small subset of all hunters and is not by any means common at all. The highest prevalence is in Texas, and even then of all the hunters there thermal hunters are less than 1%. Yeah man they can stick to hogs and if those are eliminated they can go hunt raccoons, because I am going to keep driving this train until trappers have coyote rights exclusively across all the states that allow it. You are screwing over trappers on a trapping forum for a view of the world that only aligns when extreme far left groups want to just get rid of "all" forms of management. The vast majority of trappers are not on trapperman, they arent even in the associations. I will always fight for a trapper to get exclusivity and lock it up until he or she retires and another trapper comes along. Im not sorry for feeling that way, and I stand by it 100%.

Wright away. Thanks for proving the point of this thread so well. It's all about you and your group and you want to use government force to restrict others. Glad your proud of it. Do you Know how small trapers numbers are and how looked down on they are. Wouldn't it make more since to be at war with the antis than hunters that have enough disposable income to pay and play with high end thermals and are probably much more well off $ and connected than nost trappers.
It's much more likely to get more traps banned or types of trapping possibly all trapping.
But keep looking at the very small picture and keep it all about what you think. So far I don't think a single trapper here supported your stance on it but carry on.
