Dang they are right proud of that book White.

I have a ton of homesteading books on just about every subject there is. If I could only own one, it would be the Carla Emery one. If I could own two, the second would be the Storey one I liked above.
That said, does she have specific interests? There are lots of great books that delve into greater detail on certain subjects, be it candle making, home butchering, sausage making, foraging, chickens (or other critters), etc., etc.
OH and I HIGHLY recommend a subscription to Backwoods Home and/or their sister magazine Self Reliance. Owned by conservative libertarians so no tree hugging nonsense. I can't wait for the newest issue to come in.... GREAT homesteading magazines.

The Foxfire series has merit.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Thank you all for the suggestions, Yotetrapper30 I don't think she knows what she interested in at this point, she still fairly young and been working and going to school since she was 17. She is currently working for a big ranch doing all the physical therapy on the horses there. She was ranch raised and has grown up around all that entails, I think she's wanting to get back to her roots and make a home and new life with/for her husband. Everyone has given me some great ideas and I'll see what's available online and shipping times. Think I'll start with the 2 books at the top of this thread and the magazine subscription and add one or two more depending on costs as I also have a wedding to help pay for this year lol
