It's become obvious our country as we know it is over and done. Beyond the election integrity, no accountability when the government people break the law, fast and furious, Hillary email server, the steel dossier, and on and on. The beyond belief liberal stuff being pushed.
None of that come close to what I see on display here.
Union vs non union, thermal hunters need regulated becuse they may take some coyotes and trappers won't get them. You chose to live in NY and are horrible for it without even considering if they would be willing to move from their home or the fact up state NY is an outdoorsbman paradise. When people are so dug in they can't even consider the other side and want to act like what's on display here in a primarily down to earth supposed to be like minded freedom loving group. Well from what I see here from this group of people I respect and look up to more than any other group then there is no hope for the rest of the country. The internet in general creates an environment where people will take their position to the extreme. Take away the computer screen and have the same discussions in person and I think you would see a lot more compromise.
Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

There are 5 or 6 of y'all that constantly post doom and gloom on Tman. It must be really hard living like that. Unplug and go outside, dude. Or become pen pals with MattLA--he probably has a legendary solution. America still beats every place on Earth.

MattLA, Your opinions on certain things shows that you really have little clue about what's going on nationwide.
You have a very odd viewpoint on trapping/trappers and other user groups. Some of your comments in this thread about how your going to send a letter to Indiana DNR to limit otter take as "retaliation" for something you didn't like that Providence Farm posted is the most immature and childish thing I've ever seen an adult post on Tman.
Are you sure you are an adult and not a child? Either that or you are a silver spoon spoiled brat that has picked up their toys and went home many times in the past.
Just because it's your opinion dont make it right or even sensible. Swamp, It's about the calibration of wildlife management opinions and contrasting it against a political corruptness is where I took offense. According to Providence, my wildlife management opinion is worse than government officials being corrupt, Americans getting killed by guns provided to the cartel, a fake targeting packet that indicated that a sitting President was colluding with Russia. You and anybody else can criticize me and question why I think the way I do with wildlife management, but to compare me or my opinions to those things is something that requires a response, especially when I use my real name on a forum. Yes, in "retaliation" I sent a pro trapping email in which I spoke of how important trapping was to me to his Legislature and DNR, if you don't understand context it was an obvious jest about his personal reduction in otter tags. As far as a silver spoon, let me give you some help. We were dirt poor my entire life and we definitely had the shelter, food and clothing, but not much after that. I left home when I was 17 to live by myself while going to highschool because I failed a grade, working a fulltime job and trying to plan my future. My full time job I got paid 5.15 an hour to serve other people food and deal with people who had first world problems ruling their life. I didn't have enough money to even take care of myself and had to rely on other people to help get me food. I was so low that I ate an entire gallon of mayonnaise because It was what I could afford. One night in the frosty bone chilling slum apartment that I lived in that did not have heating, I had a grandeur vision of another life for myself, one in that I was rich in the things that mattered most to me and set forth a goal, plan and strategy of execution to arrive at that destination. Nothing in my life was given to me and every single thing that I have accomplished has been from hard work, dedication and persistence even in the presence of people like yourself telling me that I didn't know what I was talking about, that I wasn't good enough and that I should just stop while I was ahead. For sure I had some luck but I didn't win the lottery, I didn't just come into some big pot of money, the luck I had was being in the right place, right time and right attitude. It didn't matter what obstacles were in my way, my eyes were on the prize and through all of those things I was fortunate enough to land where I am today, so you can take your silver spoon & stir your own tea with it, cause that dog don't hunt. Difference of opinion is always warranted and welcome, and if you go through my posts I have always welcomed criticism of my view points even from people who childishly put me on ignore instead of having a conversation about it. If we want to be real honest about some things maybe we should start with why you didn't send me a private message about this? I wont ever let somebody publicly try to drag my name through the mud and act like I can't read it and then try to accuse me of being anti-union when he is being so overly dramatic about the USA ending. The USA hasn't been the country it was intended to be since the radical republicans ruined everything and refused to acknowledge a SCOTUS view point and then have lied about everything since then. With that said, we live in the greatest country in the world along with the best privileges and despite what the white noise says, things are not doom and gloom. I'm on a trapping forum, and I am going to protect, promote and do anything and everything I can to obtain exclusive rights for trappers in the USA. I am all about making deals and allies, but unless it's hogs or high fence game preserves, I wont ever be ok with thermal hunters coming and taking away business for trappers. I'm not sorry for what I said, I stand by every single part of it 1000%. Eating an entire gallon of mayonnaise is hard core.

So if I buy a thermal am I getting kicked off the site? I’ve found that most folks would rather have trappers than thermal hunters. Don’t know if my prices or production is better or what, but the ultimate goal is to make the landowner happy with as few predators as possible. Now maybe if it came down to feeding my family, I might feel different. But all I’m trapping for is the challenge and turkey money. Most thermal hunting here is for hogs, but if coyotes are seen they’ll shoot them as well. Guess if you don’t want coyotes shot at night, then they need to classify them as game animals, otherwise they’re fair game.

I can't get past the, "Rise above," and screw us Indiana otter trappers. Yeah, if he's gonna send a letter send one encouraging them to drop the limit, we are over run with otter here. There is the email I sent to your Senators and Reps that run the Natural Resources Committiee in Indiana. "Dear Senator Glick & Senator Leising/ Rep Eberhardt & Rep Abbott, My name is Matthew Deinhardt, I am a sportsman from Louisiana and I just wanted to let you know how important trapping is to me and my lifestyle. All of the animals I trap I eat the meat, I use the bones for tools, glue OR broth, I use the guts for lures and the fur I use for clothing for my family. On rare occasion that I have surplus fur, I would consider selling it, but that hasn’t happened so far. Louisiana and Indiana have a great relationship when it comes to trapping and we hope our Otter are doing great in the waters of Indiana. We wanted to ask consider upping the limit for trappers who consistently tag out on Otter, some of them have been showing what seems to us very healthy amounts of Otter sign. We hope you consider that, but if not just know we always have more Otters to give you guys! Lastly, we love trapping so much and know that Indiana does too, so we had a very small request. In Article 1, Section 39 Of the Indiana Constitution, we would like to ask you to amend this to include trapping. You see trapping is conservation and there is no possible way to adequately and reasonable take conservation measures without the use of trapping. Trapping is not hunting even though some Legislatures across the country want to consider that. As you likely know there has been numerous trapping losses across the USA and we are just trying to do our due diligence on getting it codified in all of the Constitutions in the USA. It’s a simple fix that should be bi-partisan and prevent any group who wishes to take away the god given right to harvest animals to supply nutrition to his body and his family’s body. I appreciate your time and wish you all the best, please feel free to reach out to me if you have questions. Very Respectfully, Matthew Deinhardt"

That should get a law changed You don't know when yours will be the one that tips the scale. Minnesota's Wolf plan advisory committee, Legislature and MN DNR has plenty of opinions and comments from me.
