There's a local food chain store.........Harps..... here in Arkansas that has a meat sale on Saturday. They had Tbones for 5.47 /lb and I was very skeptical but gave it a go. Might have been the best piece of meat (beef) I've had. One was actually a porterhouse instead of Tbone but they were both delicious. I'm a believer. I'm sure it was corn-fed too, not fattened on grass. Very happy with it.

There are thousands and thousands of Mexican steers cross the border at Santa Theresa then winter on Texas wheat pasture. Come spring they are shipped to the big grass lands like the Flint Hills and fed out in the panhandle region. All end up in our supply line.
This was going on, along with Monfort killing all the Canadian fats when Mike Calibrate's lawsuit was found to have no merit because the American producer was over producing and causing a glut in the market. Thanks NAFA.

I take it not all Mexican cattle are those goofy looking Corriente stuff. Look like their 75% bones

Store here sells Mexican beef. I can't say I see any difference between it and Select grade American beef.

Store here sells Mexican beef. I can't say I see any difference between it and Select grade American beef. "Select" is the lowest grade of beef that I am aware of that is sold at a typical grocery market, but is certainly just fine, particularly for certain dishes that don't call for marbled meat.

I sort through the "choice" cuts looking for stuff that actually came from a prime animal (only 3% of US beef). I try to find those well marbled prime chucks and chuck-eyes; some of the best tasting steaks to be found. Can't always find them though.

Yes, but that fat is all in the wrong place. It doesn't look like there is any marbling (fat) in the flesh. I'd cut those steaks up for stew meat. Still cheap beef though.
