I bought some all purpose sand for making my wax sand this year. After bringing it home I realized that it was wet, so I dried it out and now noticed that it is full of tiny little stones. Should I try and sift those or will it be ok to use those stones in it? I always used play sand in the past but the color of it is way lighter than I’d like to use. So I tried the all purpose this year.

I usually get the play sand and mix with my local dirt. 2 gal of local dirt to 1 gal of sand. Then you won't notice the color variation. It would probably work good the other way if you like more sand. (2 gal. sand - 1 gal. dirt)

I've gotten and used the all purpose sand on occasion with no problem. After driving around with a 5 gal bucket in the back of the truck you'll notice those stones will vibrate to the top and bunch up. You can pinch them off the top and toss them out if it bothers you but they really won't affect anything.
