Limited resources. Despite what some say, the easy to get stuff is gone. We may have plenty here, but it’s deep and expensive. I don't believe that. Regulations are deep. I come from a long line of miners, coal is there, keeps the lights on. If the UK is really struggling to heat their homes, then I don't fully understand Parliament, why would they not vote the wankers out? It's getting bad enough here with coal prices and even firewood if your not physically able to cut your own like me anymore. The great reset???
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Both sides over in europe are pretty much all greenies. Combine that with the Russia/Ukraine war and the pipeline issues over there, energy prices are way up. Limited resources. Despite what some say, the easy to get stuff is gone. We may have plenty here, but it’s deep and expensive. Resources are being artificially limited. They are shutting down drilling, shutting down nuke plants, shutting down coal plants, etc. We are pretty much doing the same thing.

Sniper in my opinion has nailed it, artificially shut down. Apparently it hasn't got bad enough for people to get out and vote.

I'm being 100% honest, I don't know what's going on. Why in todays time are people struggling to heat their homes? If this is really true, what is causing it? Global warming. Don't need to heat their homes if its getting warmer.

Regular coal is less than half that in bulk. You can dig as muchI exposed coal, out of some hillsides in South East, Ohio, as you want. Keith

I wonder what coal costs in Welch OK right now? i could run down there and get 24-25 tons tomorrow. Then I would have to buy a stove that can handle it....

Down here, the coal mines are strip mines, much of it lignite a lower grade of coal. Most goes directly to the powerplant to supply electricity. Some of the coal is so bad and so deep now that it is cheaper for the power plants to train in good coal from wyoming to run the turbines than it is to dig it in their backyards.

Well Chancey, I don't think anyone has regarded Texas as a coal bearer.

True, but if we're importing coal from out of state now then it is a supply and demand thing.
O&G has been down too; its picking up slowly though.

I have one in the house and two more in the garage awaiting restoration. I'm always on the watch for a good one.

About all the coal mines in West Virginia our being purchased by foreign investors. RUSSIA. Locals cant even purchase coal because of cost to heat there homes there. Until we end this reign of error Biden has brought upon us we're all going to suffer. Not him, but the rest of us.

The population in the US has grown more than 50% since 1970 as well. Much of that 50% is not self sufficient and wouldn’t know how to cut wood if they had to.
