Just curious if any other state is having issues with getting federal cites seals for bobcats? Because Colorado issued this:
This email provides important information to hunters and trappers that are pursuing bobcats during Colorado's December 1, 2022 - February 28, 2023 season. This winter, due to circumstances outside our control, CPW and other state wildlife agencies have not yet received federal bobcat seals needed to satisfy federal requirements on bobcats. Below is the process furharvesters can follow until we have federal seals available at mandatory inspections.
Due to delays within the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, we will not receive federal bobcat seals until January 2023 (more than 30 days after our bobcat season opens). We have created a temporary solution to meet CPW regulations until we have federal seals in hand. Furharvesters who harvest a bobcat before the federal seals arrive will have 2 options:
Have their bobcat sealed with a green CPW seal at this time and return to have it resealed later with a federal seal (no firm date, anticipating early/mid-January)
OR
CPW regulations state they have 30 days from harvest to have their pelt sealed. Hunters may choose to wait as long as possible in hopes that the federal seals will arrive within that 30 days. They can check back in with a CPW office to see if the federal seals have arrived. If federal seals have not arrived within 30 days of their harvest, they will need to go with option 1.
