Picked this up my last trip to Squarebanks, always wanted a compact shotgun that would fit in the Skidoo trunk. It's made in Turkey and imported by R.I.A ( Rock Island Armory ) I decided to got with the 12 due to it's versatility but they also had 20 and 410............good luck finding any 410 ammo! It folds in half and is 20" long so it fits in my snogo box or under my bravo seat. It has a flip up peep site for using slugs and I bet it kicks like a P#$%&ed off donkey considering how lite it is. The stock is hollow and would make a nice spot to hide some survival gear plus it has spacers so you can adjust the stock for length of pull, I removed one spacer so I can shoot it with my parka on. Also to my surprise when I opened the box it came with three chokes ( cyl., mod., and full ), choke wrench, and a plastic box to store them in. For a buck fifity it makes for a decent knock around gun. I also picked up some Federal shorty shells loaded with #8 shot but haven't tried them out yet........................................... Nice! Yeah, should have bought my kids 28 gauges instead of 410.

Rumors of my assimilation have been greatly exaggerated.

At least Trudeau might let you keep that one. On the other hand that folding stock probably classifies it as an assault weapon.

Regardless, I really like simple firearms like single shots.

I've used 12 ga Aguila shorties for years in a single shot HR topper. The Aguila rims are a bit inconsistent and so sometimes don't eject properly. I usually then break a stick for a rod to push out the empty.
As for performance they are not as hard hitting as say 12 ga field loads for example but are plenty for sitting spruce hens as long as you are close and have a clear shot but certainly are able to do the job.
I would say be prudent and they will work fine. Also 8 shot can be a bit on the light side it seems.
All that said I have no experience with the Federal shorties

Thats a good looking trail gun. Never messed with the short rounds, curious how they work out for you.

Looking at the ballistics of the Federal shorty it has a slight advantage over a 3" 410 and should pattern better since it doesn't have a long shot column like a 410. Looking at 410 shells online they are going for $40 to $45 for a box of 25...........ouch
