I have a older Bobcat 642 that has a timing issue I think.

It runs very rough and I for the life of me can not find where the vacuum advance hose plugs into.its hanging off the bottom of the distributor. Where does it plug into? I'm thinking if it was plugged in it may run better.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Id check the gap in the points, if I recall the gap is .025. This ford engine has a fussy points gap that does fall out of the sweet spot occasionally which will cause the engine to run anything but smooth. Its a good idea to have an extra set lying around. There is an electronic ignition kit available it you do your homework as to where to find it. I think the same engine was used in the Pinto so that's where people find the parts. Also, if you can cross reference the points they can be had much cheaper at NAPA or likewise.
