Both should work fine.

I think either will work fine.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I looked at both traps for You and the Bridger 175 is way better/heavier built then the Duke 175. I recommend the Bridger Trap!! Good Luck!

If Coon and Mink are a focus, a stock Duke 1.75 is not the best trap IMHO. Too much room under the jaw for Coon, and very strong springs/pan tension on a factory trap for Mink. The Duke 1.5 would be a better trap to compare to.

Bridger 1.75 is 1 1/2 sized trap. The Duke is a true 1.75 sized trap. Also the jaws on the Bridger are smoother so it would be easier for a wet tapered foot to slide out of. If I had to choose between those two the Duke wins everytime. If you want a true comparison the 1.65 Bridger is much closer to the Duke 1.75, as it has a larger jawspread than the 1.75 Bridger. I'd still save a couple bucks and get the Dukes.

Went with the dukes for this reason it kinda bothers me bridger would call it a 1.75 when it's a 1.5

Kinda seems asinine to me that the 1.65 is bigger than the 1.75. Wouldn't you think they would call it the 1.85 or something?

They made the 1.65's first. IMO it's to deceive trappers into thinking they are buying a bigger trap if they don't read the fine print. The used trap market is confusing enough without current manufactures muddying the waters even more. The montomery/newhouse/blake and lamb traps they are all Victors with different names on the pans is another example of it. It makes it all very difficult for trappers to get good info on what they may or may not be getting.
