Thanks for the interest and input from those more knowledgeable on the subject than myself. What an amazing amount of knowledge from a bunch of trappers which most likely are looked down upon by society much like the tanner Simon was in Acts.

This might be wishful thinking, but just wondering if some of the geniuses that's been running the global warming (or is it climate change?) could be seeing they are running out of money fast and even more so the patience of the peasants that's funding their pet peeve project of windmills and solar panels. They might have a way out and say, hey with wars and other pressing needs we need to slow this thing down and with a possibility of a better thing on the horizon (being fusion) maybe we could hold off or slow down for a while.
No, they probably aren't smart enough or ungreedy enough to take such an escape if they had it. In the mean time "How Dare You" think such negativity, lol.

I got a fusion in my spine ! Does that mean I’m a walking reactor?
Lol
eek

We got some smart cookies on this forum...I appreciate it. Question...after a fission or fusion incident are there new ELEMENTS created by the reaction? Some of the verbiage here offers there that might be the case?? AND are they (waste?) problematic to dispose of? I saw on the News that there is research now that indicates that there might be a USE for the used chemicals involved with some of these reactors? thanks ahead of time

With fusion you basically turn hydrogen into helium the amounts that are needed are pretty small compared the the energy gain. That is if the get the box figured out to keep that reaction contained in. A big advantage of fusion as opposed to fission is that you can not have a runaway reactor. You can shut off the fuel supply in a fusion reactor and shut the thing down. So accidents like Fukushima etc. would be a thing of the past. You won't have the highly radioactive waste like you have with a fission reactor either. To give you an idea how difficult it is to build the " box " to contain that reaction.
In order to fuse two hydrogen atoms you need high temperature and high pressure. The minimum temperature required to fuse hydrogen is about 100 million Kelvin (about 180.000.000 F ). The pressure required must be high enough to force the hydrogen nuclei within 10^(-12) millimeters of each other. This works inside the sun because of its mass, that provides the pressure in its core and with it the high temperatures. Meanwhile back home, we try to replicate those temperatures and pressures using lasers and strong magnetic fields.
Word on the street is that getting a fusion reactor to run stable and produce energy, can be compared in the degree of difficulty to running a Detroit diesel engine without it dripping oil. So its a tough nut to crack
