That looks pretty simple but smart on your part.
I bought a small critter carrier from Smokey's Trapping Supply. It uses a garden hose with wire rope in it

I use a fold up toboggan type sled. Didn't work for sledding in the snow, but works good for that.

Just curious to see what everyone has come up with for carrying out those pond pigs from way in deep. Mine is 2 cheap shotgun slings with small rope loops on the ends to put on the beavers feet so I can backpack them out. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/12/full-51655-161295-c6eb6704_217c_4922_918a_ab04561c2c4d.jpeg) If one looks closely at this pic you see them beaver fleas making their way towards that nice luxurious and warm beard!
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

The problem I see with packing them out is they are usually wet inturn soaking the carrier. I use an Otter sled that I added nylon strips to the runners. I can load it with traps and equipment easily pull this across snow, grass or gravel.
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

A small otter sled... drag stuff in, drag stuff out, use a harness to pull... That's what I use too. I call it my dead sled.

Usually a stick through the trap itself is a nice handle, even conibears are self made handle itself, but the critter hangs lower and drags......j

A good heavy canvas canoe pack with a Tump strap is the best thing to carry beaver out of the bush.3 or 4 will fit in if you got the stones to carry the weight. I can still carry 2 big beaver in my canoe pack even at my age. When younger I have carried up to 5 in the canoe pack.
