Guy from work called today needing some cash and said he had an old 22 for $100 bucks if I wanted it. I bought it sight unseen to help him out. Picked it up Marlin model 25 made in 1983 with JM stamped barrel a couple of tiny scratches on the barrel but mint condition otherwise. Have to shoot it soon and see if it goes in the squirrel gun collection.

I own 1/2 dozen .22 rifles and my favorite is a Marlin Model 25. You will like it.

Slow rate of twist in the barrel. 1 in 16 inches. Stabilizes heavier .22 bullets like this: https://www.aguilaammo.com/products/22-sniper-subsonic-long-rifle-subsonic-lead-solid-point

Very quiet round for squirrels and bunnies if noise may be an issue,

Chris

Marlin/Glenfield model 25 is what Dad bought for us boys to share.
I think that he ordered it from either JC Penney or Montgomery Ward although it's possible that he got it at the old Holiday Station.
I shot my first everything short of deer with it.

I own a munch of model 25s, one for each of the kids. They all will shoot if I do my job.

I have a 1975 Marlin/Glenfield Mod 25, I have some great shooting .22lr but the Mod 25 is king. My modified Ruger 10/22 is close at best. Minute of squirrel eye with CCI standard or Federal Match ammo.

you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!
