Anyone get many snapped and empty rat traps in weasel boxes? When they get a trap snapped in their face, how trap shy do they get?I seem to nail a lot of mice with my rat traps with expanded trigger

They dont, put rat trap back approx 4 inchesYep, maybe one here and there gets a little smart, but they’re usually numerous enough, ballsy enough, or get hungry enough they throw caution to the wind. As Lee said, change it up just a tad and you should get em the next time if anything. Happy trapping! ScottW

Anyone get many snapped and empty rat traps in weasel boxes? When they get a trap snapped in their face, how trap shy do they get?I only use 1.5 longs in my weasel boxes, sometimes a 1,but try not to because the 1.5 grabs em like a BG and d.o.a. Set that bugger on hair trigger and right under the entrance hole and you won't miss a weasel and the mice won't trip em. Weasel lure on top rim of hole and bloody bait in the back off the bottom of the box. Love trapping those little guys

Yes, that is a B&L…even though they are noted as a strong trap, it’s more about the jaw spread on a weasel trap. Victor #1 LS have the same results. However, I do prefer a # 1 1/2.What about a "0" longspring?

$25 each, retail, and $22.50 wholesale, and I cant meet the demand. Often other sellers will buy me out and then re sell at a mark up.I am OK with that.

Will making fresh boxes with the fresh scent of cut plywood/treated wood hinder my chances or do they not seem to care about secondhand smells like that?I use mine all year round for mice, moles and chipmunks. I think the smell of rodents as well as bait will entice them to enter looking for an easy meal.
