Living and operating in the Atlanta metro beaver dams here are full of trash.

I've found everything from old tires to furniture in dams.

Meanwhile cameras get better and humans get dumber! We can't tell what the pic is because of the blurriness of it. Yes our beavers in Louisiana are well known to use 2x4s, basically any construction scrap, I even found a pair of stem cutters or bush cutters that the beaver stacked on his lodge. Was pretty awesome.

You must be close by to me. Lenawee/Monroe county here. We finally had some beavers show up this year, been extirpated since the late 1800's. Had several calls to trap them but I can't get myself to trap them out again. Maybe in a couple of years.

Beavers went to the customers shed and took wooden handled shovels, rakes, hoes...that were leaning up against the shed and put them in the dam..along with his kids basketball and soccer balls.

Guy was thrilled when I found all his stuff

I found part a pelvic bone from a deer or small calf. Not sure which but you could tell it was quite old as it was black clear though from being in the mud so long. They use whatever available.

I have seen beavers use dead beavers in their dam.
Minnow traps, old or new are not uncommon in some places.
Found an old HBC axe head in a beaver dam once.

Walked up to a set on a drowning cable and thought I had a catch as the cable was stretched out the opposite direction that I had placed it. Trap was still set in its bed but the beavers had pushed my drowner weight over onto the dam.

anything not bolted down near a creek will likely end up in a beaver dam if any are nearby/ What they cant move will be the basis of the next colony's dam.
