A long time customer of mine bought a Lofrans windlass just over a year ago and I found out last week that it does not fit onto the setup that he has as it it to big. I took it home and looked if I could take off the capstan on one side and make it fit. Nope not that easy to do so I told him the bad news. His answer I'll get a smaller one you can keep that one. Told him that it would be a bit big for my little 17 foot runabout. So he said I can put it on e bay or whatever and make some pocket money. The thing is brand new and is worth 5300.00 bucks. So I guess I'll stick it on e bay for 4000 and see what happens. Anyone needs one of these for their bass boat here https://www.p2marine.com/lofrans-falkon-windlasses

Gonna mount to your tractor to drag out trees you cut for firewood? Might find is invaluable and wonder how got along without it !

I have a 15000 lbs winch on the truck so really have no use for the thing.
I had a capstan on my landcover way back in the day that was driven by the PTO. Back then I never thought about what could happen if that rope snaps and muggins here is standing right next to the capstan pulling on the thing that could be heading my way at quite some speed.
Now I like the wireless remote on the winch and stand well out of the line of fire

They make them in all sizes yes. It would lighten the load for sure, but not speed things up. It easier to press a button that to haul even a small anchor up by hand. But it will take a little longer with the small anchor take that is usually used on little boats like that. These days they used trolling motors that have a built in GPS and a feature that holds you in one place without having to pitch an actual anchor over the side.
Also, there is not faster bilge pump than a scared guy with a bucket.
