I'm getting to the point where I take nuisance jobs if I can trap from truck, ATV, canoe or boat- or at least close proximity. I'll use a dog choker with a loop with garden hose handle for yotes and remote beaver on ocassion.

Also exploring this idea- live snare, attach dog leash and dispatch at the truck.

Old backpack which I use to bring in traps and sometimes beaver out in.... In this case one in the bag and one dragged behind with the rope.

Bigger otter sled behind the ATV....fits my lazy 10 year old.

Little pull behind sled for those in between jobs. Buy one with the stiffest plastic you can find, otherwise you just end up tipping the cheap ones.

Connibear setting tongs work well. They clip on to the front foot nicely. Slide real easily that way.

You can pull them nose to tail in tandem too in the snow. Just run a sharpened short stick in one nostril and out the other, attach a line, and tow. Hook another one on to the tail of the first and then another sharpened stick through nose of second one, attach line, and tow same way in tandem. Slips along real easy. Cartilage between the nostrils is tough enough to take the stain.

Bucket strapped to meat pack does the trick for me through the sloughs. I can throw in my tools and lures as well [Linked Image]

If one of the above don’t work I skin them where I catch them.

Good catches.

1st I've ever seen a canoe on an atv.
