You will get lots of answers on this one. But I like and use Rouge ammo, mine is in 20 ga. I tired most other brands and found Rouge shot a little better than the others.

I use apex ammo and like a lot. I’ve heard great things about Boss out of Michigan as well.

Coop, actually you’re probably above $10 a shell. Gregh yeh have found that About them as well, I usually get mine early but I bought 5 boxes last time so I’m good for a year or two now. May want to call them if you really want to try?

I’ve shot Apex in 410, 28, 20, and 12. It has all shot very well and consistent. In my opinion it shines in the sub gauges, but really can’t justify the cost for the 12 since I have a lifetime stash of Winchester Supreme HV #5 that my 12 gauges shoot very well.
Gregh go to the Apex website and sign up for their emails. They will notify you of in stock alerts and send discount codes from time to time.

I went back to Winchester #5’s after the price went up to 70.00 for a box of 5. It’s just not needed to kill a Turkey at 40 yards. IMO

IMO I must be missing something and likely am but this follows my thought pattern. Lead 4 and 5s 2 3/4 seem to kill Tom's just fine and I get them for 16$ or less for 25. I guess if you can kill them with 9 shot at distance that is interesting so it must be much heavier than led or for when nontoxic is required. My boys now 10 and 12 have killed turkey with bow and 20g so far. I'm sure it must be good for folks to spend that kind of cash on but I'm to cheap. Notice how my boys have been killing turkey. I won't pay the price for a turkey tag. I can buy two from the store for the same price as a tag. But I enjoy taking my boys and youth license are still cheap.

I admit, I got caught up in the hype. I was paying 32.00 for 5 rounds, I ran out of the hevi-13 stuff I purchased 5-6 years ago. I went to buy more and noticed it was around 70.00 for a box of 5. I said I’m done. I went back to the same shell I have used forever. I think the last 5 turkeys I shot have all been inside of 20 yards. I just don’t feel like I need it, to harvest turkeys. I looked at the price tag on the box of Winchester’s and there 12.99 for 10. I do use the tss #9’s in a .410 for my boy. He has harvested two turkeys with. One at 7 and one at 9. I’m going to try to move him up to a 20ga this year.

Just where I thought this thread would go. The OP asked who makes the best 3” 12 gauge TSS shot shells. And bam everyone Has to give their opinion on them. If you don’t think they’re needed good for you, if they’re not worth the money, you’re entitled to your opinion. If you want to debated which TSS shells are better then ok cause that what he wants to know!

There's never anything wrong with someones opinion, every one has one. If a guy has limited time in the turkey woods because of work and family and misses an opportunity to kill a bird that hangs up just out of range that a TSS would kill then what? Me and my buddy hunt 4 states, if a bird hangs up or hens meet up just out of range of lead loads thats another day we spend in that state when we could have packed up and headed to another. Its to each their own in the hunting woods. Do you need a crossbow to kill a deer when a compound will do the same thing? Do you need a compound when a recurve will do the same thing? Not bashing just saying.
