It feels like "Far."

Running about 170 mile round trip right now.

My farthest line is 60 miles from home. Then I run my route. But not this year. To many irons in the fire.

The farm I coyote trap is 3/4 of a mile from my house. Mink line is maybe 10-12 miles total from home

The beavers put the milage on because there not around home.

About 200 yards down the river bank to set my first trap this season To far to walk to catch an otter at such low prices but I just had the hankering to give it a try.

On years like the past 3 or 4. Most of my travel in a short ATV ride from the house. Except trapping spring beaver, will travel up to 10 miles.

Fur trapping on my farm and in this mile section - have caught 40 beaver w/i a 3 mile radius from the house (but not this year). In 2012 I trapped for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the Missouri River between NE and SD (Yes they wanted to save some trees and had to have a beaver trapper). It was sort of a vacation trapline but I did get 2 Top Lot Western Pale beaver from the ones I caught which is rare for NE beaver and my first bobcat as there are none close here. All I know is you have to go where they are at! It's worth it to me to drive an extra 10 miles to a good spot than hope and pray I catch something closer to town where there is less sign. Can't catch them if they are not there! One should put most of their time into scouting and gaining permission. That makes the rest of it a lot easier.

Farthest is 10 miles have permission on 25,000 acres but its not all suitable for trapping
