I presume you are using a BG trap with standard wire trigger. Try a pan trigger setup as it provides an open entry space without any trigger wires in their face that may deter them from entering thru the trap.
The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

You say your box opening is slightly declined downwards. Make sure your trap is solidly stabllized in the box.Wide slots dont work for stabilizing the trap solidly.Narrow 1/4 inch slots will. Keep in mind when an animal like a fisher works a box set he will be all over the outside of it and the tree before he goes in. If your bodygrip is not solidly stabilized and he steps on a spring, your trap can tip,or fall out of the box, especially with a downward opening. Just something to keep in mind when setting boxes. if your box has wide slots and the trap is not solid, you can use a branch to accomplish it.Crank the springs up or down and pass one end of the branch thru one spring eye, then bend the branch under or over the box and crank the other spring eye over the other end of the branch while bending it up or down.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Thanks, I probably don’t have time to do this for this year but will try for next season. Appreciate the help.

I use pans on some of my body grippers with success. Last year I switched to 160's and I bent my triggers to shape of a T with them on the bottom. Had good luck with them also. Not sure I’m understanding when you say in the shape of a T. You have a pic of that?

I would have to go dig one out of the shed to get a picture.

Make your own pans now out of 3/8" plywood or corrugated plastic. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/12/full-12152-161781-002.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2022/12/full-12152-161783-corrigated_pan_001.jpg)

I'd put a walnut-size chunk of meat just outside the entrance.(cover with leaves, lightly bury, etc) If he likes it, he'll want what's in the back of that box.
