I wouldnt have killed it, thats a prime candidate for breeding 100%. No glory in wiping out a trophy with monster genetics when you can just keep breeding it out. What if its not open to your advances ? 10/10

It's large size is most likely due to age. Beaver keep growing their entire lives. I think the record came out of Wyoming; two beaver both well over 100 pounds, out of the same pond.

That'd be my guess. The biggest one I ever caught (by 15-20lbs bigger) came from a little spot I don't think anyone had ever trapped or at least not for a good many years. The one pictured above is a real monster.

He won't say for some reason. Always bragging he's made his life fortune by age 30 but keeps it a secret then acts like he wants to help the poor.....

The two biggest beaver I have caught 63 & 68 pounds came out of a tiny creek maybe 10 feet across at the most and generally knee deep.

Better question is what trap held that thing? Its head looks too big to fit in a 330! That's what I thought? 990?

I remember a Wichita radio station reporting many years ago that a man had trapped what he assumed was a mating pair out of the Arkansas River. Both were over 100 pounds, and this is the first story I have heard personally of another one even close to that size so obviously it happens but not very often.

When I was a senior in high school there was a picture in a paper (probably the Wichita Eagle) of a beaver that had been caught in the Arkansas River that was over 100 Lbs. That would have been in 1969. I remember it well as I was trapping beaver and couldn't believe they got that big.

My take is that is just a regular 68 lb beaver being held by 4 ft tall leprechauns.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!
