Way I see it is a people thing.
Anyone out moving around after dark that's not related to a very specific job. Got to be up to no good.
Hunters would be setting up somewhere shouldn't. Shining light around drive threw crops. Shooting towards homes and buildings. Miss identification of targets be shooting people's tabby cats, pets and live stock.
Just be mayhem.
Isn't that some of the crap was heard at spring hearings? Back when actually was wolf season couple years could hunt them at night.

coon , and coyote are open at night if those are valid arguments on bobcat with very few tags , yet they aren't on coon and coyote with unlimited tags ?

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Right.
But coon and coyote were long established as hunted that way. The other seasons being a new item gave the anti and dnr a new in on eliminating night hunting. Remember when pretty much couldn't run traps in dark without being criminal.
At least that's how I see it.

They were successful at banning wolf and Bobcat hunting at night so who's to say they aren't going to target coyote and Coon next. Very upsetting for me.

Mac I get what your saying , but I feel like the what if machine of the 90s is running too much here , we spent decades trying to stay under the radar and not ask for the tools and seasons. because what if it is used against us.

the fact is anything you do or don't do will be used against us , things we never did will be used against us.

not asking for it just ensures you won't ever get it , there is no under the radar any more it is all under attack.

put some restriction like rimfire and shotgun only on bobcat at night and push for it.
heck require suppressed only.
or don't and just cancel the season hours

your right the 8pm to 4am be out of the woods no checking traps made you look like a criminal if you were out in the dark , the realality is dropping it didn't start up huge poaching operations.

poaching isn't on the way up

good lord the , people will die , everything will get shot , blood will run in the woods and streets from when we started to go all rifle in WI , turned out to be a absolute lie
Green county deputies were absolutely amazed how many fewer outbuildings and vehicles shot calls they took when rifle in Green county started
people could finally actually hit that deer they were aiming at at 125 yards , they treated a rifle like a rifle.

we were actually done a dis-service all those years of "shotguns are safer" the fact of the matter is a slug still kills at 400 yards you just can't control it past 110 DNR marketed the Idea slugs were safer while marketing the dangers of rifles so people respected rifles and slugs couldn't go to far they were "in the dirt by 150" which isn't true you just couldn't hit what you wanted at 150.

there are 3645 total bobcat kill tags issued for the entire state this year
most of them will probably be taken by trap that doesn't put a lot of people in the woods

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Yep I know all that heard all them arguments. Maybe not a lot of people here remember the crap I took years ago trying to change somethings. Had death threats to my family had to deal with. Definitely makes see things differently.. Didn't change my mind just my way doing somethings.

Hunters and outdoor consumption/user people fight among ourselves way to much as I see it. Then you add in all the 2-5 acre home owner game preserve people. City folks and edge of town home Owners. Try to change something it gets ugly really quick.
Heck I'd love to see some changes in bear baiting. Something more like MN does. But you can't hardly touch the bear thing anymore than whole deer management. Devil is always in details. Everyone is a specialist.

I'll probably try to hunt them mostly just before dark.
