As far as I understand spotted skunk are exceedingly rare in WI, I've heard rumors of a pocket in the southeastern part of the state but not sure I even remember that right. Like a whisper of memory of what might be.... lol
Sorry, I know it's not helpful but cool goal I hope you accomplish it.
Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

From what I understand you set just as you would for stripped. Even years since I've talked to anyone who even seen one but that's not saying there aren't any around. I would love to catch one too but I believe they are protected here in MN.

Common in western Washington too. You will find then in any evergreen forest, but they really like old growth forests with lots of old downed timber and logs. Very similar to what marten like, but at lower elevations than marten.

Easterns are protected in most states I know of we have a fair population here in SD. Most folks don’t even know they have them in some cases cages set off or baits gone same with foot traps, I had them on cams coming and going from cat cubbies.

I have video of them taking over beaver carcass "jackpots" and chasing bobcats off. They have no fear of anything.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Jerry, he's probably figured out how to get a free meal out of the deal! He was playing musical cages between 4 I had set on the edge of some thick trees.
