A good pile of tainted bones with a little trimming intact can really get them excited. Here that is usually moose but bear works great too. A whole dead cow might be a great coyote bait in the lower 48. Once the birds are working it good they help alert the coyotes that chow's on and brush out all sign of you. Makes it very attractive for the coyotes.

Venison trimmings ground, slightly tainted, and mixed with boss man’s bait solution is my go to.

Several years ago I saw a post on T-man where someone had a dirt hole filled with used cooking oil . There was a bunch of coyote activity on it . Id never thought about trying it for anything other than coon . I tried it and put a trail camera on the hole . I couldn't believe the amount of coyotes visiting the hole . I put a trap on it and caught a large male very quickly . I go to the local diner/fast food place and can fill 5 gallon buckets with used oil almost anytime I want them .

Believe it or not good old bacon grease works after the coons have gone to sleep. There isn’t much coyotes won’t investigate.

Nate one year I did really well with crab leg shells from family Christmas dinner. I took a couple gallon bags of broken legs shells home and used them in bean field chaffe piles in winter. Got quite a few off of those.
Another year I took home a couple gallons of smoked rib bones from Christmas family dinner. Those worked REALLY well at same late winter bean field chaffe pile sets. Bait under the pile and bedded trap on side closest to bait with a shot of fox pee, some were just bait. Something about the pork and the smoked scent, seemed to be a real winner.
Someone on here once said if dog won’t eat neither will a coyote.
Anyway, im a cheapskate and I see stuff like this going to the garbage after one of our big family gatherings and my wheels start turning. Some of it usually ends up going home with me and ends up in a dirt hole or chaffe pile later that week.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I was told Coyotes won't get pork. So the small piglets have no predators.

Is there any truth to Coyotes won't eat pigs?
