Question for you ADC business owners. How do you guys address electrical issues discovered during the course of inspections or removal? I often find small issues like missing covers on boxes. I notify the homeowner but some of these issue could be easily fixed. Do you guys offer to fix them or only suggest repair by licensed electrician?

Thank you,
Jonathan

Lic. Elect. I'm not qualified and won't make a situation worse with my limited knowledge. I tell homeowner the damage found, usually verbal but sometimes I will write it on paperwork so it's acknowledged by their signature.
Typical stuff may be chewed/exposed wires, leaks, mold, destroyed insulation, hornets nests, deteriorating chimneys and crumbling shingles.

I can and have repaired my own problems, but, never have or would repair a customers. Way too many ways for it to go south and end up in court. I will notify owner of any problems noticed tho!

I wouldn't repair a customer's electrical issue. I've found chewed wires on my insulation tear out and paused the blow in until an electrician could come fix the damage.

I've done plenty of wiring on my own house, etc. Its a liability issue, not a skill issue.

Don't touch something you may regret, Went into an seasonal cottage attic to check for animal noise. Went up & saw nothing but chewed wire's. She was only at the place for a day, I told her not to use any wall switches till an electrician had a look.

That sounds like a good candidate for an attic clean out!
