No joke, must have been visiting for the holidays
Were the center of the chupacabra craze a few years ago, every one I saw pics of was nothing more than a hairless coyote

Had to have had a hole or something to get in to survive that plus factor in the wind.

Have seen them here get in between rolls of hay stacked in multiple rows to survive the cold with mange.

danvee, was caught between Riverton Casper I've been patterning mange
in coyotes fore around 20 years and most always the trigger is a rabbit crash. Some times you can follow it like a wave. You may have no rabbits for miles and half or more of the coyotes will have mange. Then you hit a rabbit population ahead of the tularemia and the coyotes are healthy. If you harvest the surplus over a big enough area anualy there will be alot less mange when the rabbits crash. I believe it's the stess of over population and malnutrition that triggers it. There's a reason God gave man Dominion over his creation. Management of the resources we've been blessed with .
Rich.
