When you have a bad back not a good idea let me tell you this right now. 44lb up a 4ft bank a good twist and a chunk now I'm paying for it. Oh well should be back in fine feather in a few days and set some more coyote sets out.

I carry a piece of 1/4 inch nylon rope for use as a bodygrip setter and to attach to a beaver's front foot so I can pull it up a bank. It's much easier than chunking them up the bank.

I'm 100% a boat show. Many of those big hogs are dealt with in the water, trap removed and then rolled over the 14" sides of my jon boat and away I go. But then I have to swish them around at the boat landing to remove silt, put them in the back of pick up, taken out of pick up and placed on drying bed, then taken to skinning trough, then carcass removed to carcass pile. All in all there are a lot of touches involved. We beaver guys get a work out.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

If the bank is steep, I will dig steps into the bank with my shovel to make it easier to get back up. Fortunately, we don't have rocks here to hinder that process.

Ya Paul it's one of those things you do and you know you shouldn't but you still feel like a young buck. Hopefully I got the last one yesterday gonna go check here in a few. Glad I only have a few out. Probably start back after the coyotes the first of the week.

When processing the beaver a wheelbarrow is a handy yoke to have.
I dont normally set where banks are steep.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

A couple single edge razor blades taped together in your wallet come in handy for skinning at the catch location but that meat has a lot of uses.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

It wasn't a steep bank so much just the way I twisted and threw it up I guess but again I don't have the best back.

Some of you know this trick....learned from experience....but I spilt my beaver castor lure on my tailgate once, and then just sat near the trail and nose knocked them beavs as they came to the truck...true story

She is a easing of gonna get some stuff ready in the taxidermy shop today to go out the door tomorrow and may set some more traps in the morning. I have to take a game warden trapping next week and do a skinning day that Saturday. It's a program the game department and the VTA started back before the bug hit and was going really good. All new game wardens have to go through the basic trapper training class through the VTA and then on the line with a trapper for three days. They must skin and put up their catches and the a class by their Sargent who is a trapper and while they are in class me and 2 others go and set traps some legal some illegal and then the old gray area. So my back has to get straight I might go and get a shot in it this week it's been a year since I have had one.
