The same set has connected three days in a row turn up all the other three sets remain undisturbed. I may have to put another dirt hole a couple of feet away from this one.

I’m still waiting on the nice one I caught on video right after I set this farm up though.

This morning’s red at that set was a large male but it was mangy and rubbed.

I grew up on a farm and did farm chores such as cleaning stables by hand with a manure fork .And we butchered our own live stock So I am used to dealing with the smells and sight of farm animals In my opinion there is nothing worse than a fox with the mange Just looking at it turns my stomach .Removing animals with disease and controlling animal populations are just a small part of what trappers do to benefit the general public .

I was gonna ask if he stunk the mange stink! Not the good stink, the fox pee stink! At first glance, it looked like he got hit by a car. I love catchin little red dogs! They are just cool!

That he got hit by a car was my first thought too Lee. It's not the typical mange pattern I usually see. It usually starts on the back legs and tail and progresses up the back. I was going to leave him go before I realized it was mange, he had the bad stink.

We had three others on this morning's check and one had a full bladder that we collected the liquid gold from, the good stink! I really do love that smell!

I do too, Lug! The only worse stink that I know than a mangy red, is a mangy coyote. I’ve caught mangy stunted pup, that the only hair on them were a puff on the end of the naked tail, and a couple hairs on his head! And die from being in the trap in above freezing temps. I hated when the mange got the fox in Wy. Had some big years on fox up there, but it all came to an end when the mange came through. It pretty much killed them out, and there weren’t enough yotes in that area to make a living on, so the annual trip was cancelled! I went back for nostalgia purposes about 12 years ago, and the fox were just starting to return. But of the places I trapped, it was basically one and done. Nothing like in the former times I trapped there. Only stayed six days as I remember, and caught 20 fox!
