How about you? However, I believe if you belong to the Greek Catholic and Orthodox churches you celebrate Christmas on January 7 as per the Julian calendar as compared to the Gregorian calendar.

I love Christmas and all the friends, family and fun. It's a lot of work, but worth it IMO. We enjoyed an evening at home last night with some good snacks and a couple drinks. Sorry it's all over.

I fall into this category of holiday appreciation. For the kids and grandson the holidays become a lot more special.

I like the holidays. We have small get togethers, just my wife and kids, my parents and her parents, sometimes my brothers. I get paid days off to go hunting and trapping. I like giving my children gifts. It’s good times

The very best parts of Christmas don't cost a thing.
The commercialized part of it .... I could care less and can do without.
Peace smile

I always feel a mixture of being sad it's over, and also ready to get on with the new year.

Donna and I enjoy family we typically only see between Christmas and New Year's Day and she and I also make a bit more of an effort during that week to reflect on all the countless blessings we have as a couple >>>>> and where those blessing flow from.

Blessings,
Mark

Glad it's over this year. Just wasn't feeling it. Wife and I have no kids but it was always fun getting stuff for the various nieces and nephews. They're all old enough now they'd rather just play on their phones. My Mom always had Christmas morning at her house. The house was decorated, fireplace roaring, food cooking so it smelled great. We'd open gifts and have a big Nerf dart war till food was ready. After eating we'd start a fire in the back yard and roast marshmallows to cap off the day. Great memories and many laughs every year. My Mom was diagnosed with lung cancer this last summer and only lasted two months. She passed in September. My brother and a couple of his kids moved into her house. Just didn't feel like Christmas this year. No food cooked, the kids didn't even bother opening their Nerf guns. They all played on their phones and said maybe two words to each other. Not a one wanted to roast marshmallows. The wife and I enjoyed our time together, but the fun of gathering just wasn't there this year. Gotta feeling it won't be back again.

Three day weekends throw my internal clock off and it takes me a week to get back on track. Having a 3 day weekend and the year changing it will take about a month for me to get back to the right day of the week and several tries at getting 2023 on checks etc. I won't miss the crowds at the stores after they get the returns all made anyway.

Yes but it paid double time and a half. wink

I love the Hollidays I normally work them all. Like today. Since the Holliday of new years was on Sunday and sunday is a time and half day allreadywe get holiday pay on the following Monday. Today is a scheduled day off but I'm working night shift.

Last week was the same. Holliday pay on Monday. It's great to get Holliday pai on Monday. I get OT on days that should be strait time and instead of 40hrs at strait time it will be 28. Then work out late 4 hrs on Tuesday and that's down to 24 strait time. So out of 76 hrs last week all but 24 was strait time 12 of 2.5x and 36hrs at 1.5 time.
People don't truly understand when I tell them I make all my money on OT. They think over 40 when they think ot. I work a lot of 60 to 80 hr weeks but seldom get 40hrs of strait time pay. Hollidays just make it nicer.

I'm sure glad I have my Union job even though I don't always agree with them.
