Anyone on here a Immigrant to the USA that has gone through the whole process of getting citizenship. Looks like it's quite the battle. I guess they have multiple ways of getting it. Anyone done it that knows exactly how it works ?
There are multiple ways depending on the circumstances
Tell me about it, my kids were born overseas (China) and apparently you are supposed to register the birth of such children at the nearest embassy, which I didn’t, so when we decided to move back to the states I called the help line and asked what I should do, I was told to list them on my wife’s visa request which I did, I later got conformation that both him and my daughter had been approved and were now considered natural born citizens that their birth overseas had been noted and corrected
A few years later We got a letter from immigration telling my son he had to report for deportation because he had not filed the proper paperwork so his visa status was being revoked and he was being deported, we of course protested it and had to hire a lawyer, luckily I had legal insurance through work and except for a 500 dollar co pay it was all covered, took 3 years and about a dozen court appearances for everything to get ironed out, and it was lucky I am a pack rat and saved everything we got from them including the letter informing us of his and my daughters change in status from alien status to citizens
3 years of legal fees would have likly bankrupted us if not for the legal insurance we had, at the end the lawyer told me he had over 200 billable hours into our case
