Looking to upgrade from the standard SLA 12v 8ah to a lithium battery. Anyone have any experience with them?

I have the lithium in mine and it is WELL worth doing. Specially if you have one of the top end machines. They will eat through a battery if you are using a lot of the functions. The lithium battery will last all day or more.

Why do I carry 10mm? Because shooting twice is just silly.

I just put one in my wife's fl8 and it pretty much cut the weight in half. Got it at scheels with a charger for $70 last week, hopefully it will last a little longer and not need to be replaced every other year.

Don't buy a Marcum Shuttle. Batteries are not that great in them, and custom size you cant replace with anything but OEM. Dealing with this right now, got 2 seasons of use out of it, and works for about 2 hours max this year. Seems like a very common issue.

Guy that has tests/reviews on a lot of the Lithium batteries out there for ice fishing, and has a list of ones he recommends in the video description. This one is for the Marcum Brute Batteries.

I have the Marcum Brute installed on my FL20. Used it for 2 1/2 days of fishing over the weekend - had it running about 15 hours per day - without a recharge. Amazing. And the weight difference is remarkable if you do any hole-hopping.

My wife and i both use vexilars and never had any short life issues. I would expect to replace it every five years. We use ours almost every day during season. During the off season i remove both wires from the battery. Also put them on the chargers every other month to keep them fully charged. One of our chargers does take longer to charge than the other. I never knew they made lithium batteries for fish finders. If i have to replace, i may upgrade.

I ordered the Brute 10 ah. Can't wait to put it to the test. I use a Lowrance Elite 7 HDI in ice mode split screen and it eats battery.

If you are trying to run a hd 7 off of one of the smaller lithium batteries you are still going to eat them up as you put it. They eat up a marine battery if it hooked to a alternator of some type

Guys here running the live scopes are using power boxes with multiple batteries inside.
