foxkidd44 OP trapper Joined: Jun 2007 Illinois	My wife and a quick thinking er doctor saved my life. I have a pulmonary embolism that came very close to my heart… I thought I had pulled a rib or something in my sleep,,, my wife kept hounding me to get looked at,,, so I gave in expecting to get ice and a rib wrap,,,,,, when I told the doc my symptoms,,, he said I think you have a blood clot and immediately ordered a ct scan,,, the doctor was correct,,, had there been any more of a delay,, I would not be here typing this. Ty god for your gracious mercy!! Right now it still hurts to breathe,, doctor said it’s going to hurt for a few weeks. They have me on blood thinners to dissolve them. Doctors assessment was the Covid I had about 3 weeks ago was the culprit. Stand by your principles, Stand by your guns, and victory complete and permanent is sure at last. Abraham Lincoln

charles trapper C Joined: Aug 2010 Asheville, NC	Glad it is diagnosed and being treated. You will probably take a blood thinner for the rest of your life. I had an ablation a few years ago. Take Elequist now. No side effects.

I had a lung collapse in 2020 and let me tell you that wasn't fun. You haven't lived until you had a chest tube pushed into you like a meat thermometer. Worst pain i ever felt. Angela,, I got the jab,, peg was suggested to get it based on her health,, because she would not survive Covid if she caught it. I did not want her being alone in the choice to have it. So that is why I got it. YamaCat trapper Joined: Mar 2009 Nevada	Glad they caught it in time. I had one of the little buggers in June of 2021. Did 3 months of Eliquis, then a baby asperin every day, until a couple weeks ago. Now I’m taking an Omega supplement each day. Might have been Covid that caused mine, just not sure because I never got tested.

Trapper Dahlgren trapper T Joined: Jun 2016 Michigan	i had a blood clot in my right leg in 2013 , they put me on blood thinners shot twice a day in stomach, after a week or so it broke loose , i had a tia stroke , after that i was put on blood thinner pills , after about two years i took myself off blood thinners , within 2 weeks i had 2 blood clots in each lung , i have not been off blood thinner since

KTMracer trapper K Joined: Jan 2007 Caldwell, ID	Scary stuff. I'm glad you got it caught in time. I've been on Eliquis for a month now for blood clots in my legs. Apparently I'll be on them the rest of my life. Had a pain that felt like a pulled muscle in one calf for a couple weeks. Ultra sound showed both legs full of clots. Genetic testing showed I have Factor Five Leiden gene mutation so I'll be prone to clots all my life. Hard blow to take being on thinners in my 30's. Apparently it's a common mutation to have for white folk. You might ask your doctor to check for it if they haven't already. I was about “floored” when I picked up my first prescription of Eliquis, they are very proud of their product.
