If you do it, and you don't eat a lot of leafy green veggies, make sure you take a fiber supplement. For people like me that don't eat many veggies, Keto is not the best idea as we tend to get most of our fiber from carby foods, which are eliminated with keto.
I know a lot of people on here love the keto/low carb lifestyle but in my opinion, a diet that eliminates entire food groups like Keto does is not sustainable. I like potatoes, pasta, bread, and fruit too much for that. A simple CICO (Calories In/ Calories out) diet works better for me.

Ive never done it, but my wife did a version of it a handful of years ago, and ever since shes had trouble digesting carby foods. Bread especially. I've lost 33 lbs over the last year ,just making better choices.

The keto lifestyle is sustainable yotetrapper. I've been very low carb for many years. No bread, taters, rice or anything else high carb for me.
That being said, I'm still overweight simply because I eat too much, more calories than I burn.
Eh...wot?

Not saying that no one can do it because some people have iron will power. Just saying for most people, knowing you can NEVER eat certain foods.... leads to failure.

Roy, my wife and I did a "kind of Keto" diet starting in September. By opening of firearm season I losr 20 pounds and she lost over 10. Here is what we did; Stopped almost all sugar intake, no breads, no pasta, no potato .A Lot of meats, fruits ( fresh and frozen) , more veggies. I love my snacks so we started reading labels. Some low carb snacks fit the bill. Basically we were on a low carb diet. Of course deer camp and then the holidays we slacked off but are getting back on track. We are the same age as you, and we stay busy. I work in the fur shed and in the yard as weather permits. Staying busy and the low carb diet we were losing weight each week. Good luck.

It was a lifestyle change for me, a permanent one. Yes, I cheat once and a while. The scrapple is made with buckwheat flour and cornmeal, both are high-carb. I only eat it on special occasions like when my granddaughter and I are running the Christmas trapline, she loves it. But I give most of it away. I'll have a big holiday meal and Christmas cookies ect. But I pay for it. My body is not used to all those carbs and lets me know it.. Also, the weight goes on really quickly with carbs.
Eh...wot?

I've lost 33 lbs over the last year ,just making better choices. My wife started this diet and ended up having some very serious pain with gallstones. I’m sure the diet didn’t create the gallstones but being higher in fat I’m sure it triggered her gallbladder to work more and that caused the stones to lodge. She said she felt like she was having a heart attack or something.

The carbs for me go right to my belly. I suffered from a sciatica nerve issue a year ago and it lasted 8 months until I had the shots to take care of it. During that time I couldn't move or work like I normally do and I packed on the pounds.this "Keto friendly diet " works for me. If we go out for dinner I try to watch the carbs. No French fries, if I really want a burger I don't eat the top of the bun. Things like that help me.

I am on a physician guided diet that is basically Keto , I do it for the type 2 diabetes
my goal is 17 ounces of meat/protein a day , add a table spoon of fat to every meal and eat about 30grams of carbs a day
if you ever have hopes of pooping again , you need to make sure your eating a bunch of leafy greens a day.
I eat close to a 12oz bag of salad mix a day
start the morning off with coffee with cream a couple eggs
Lunch a chef salad
supper a pork chop and green beans and possibly a salad and a miller lite while I make dinner
I lost some weight , but it works to keep my glucose low , my daily numbers wouldn't show I was type 2 unless I ate some extra carbs
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Yes it works. I just do it when I want to drop weight quick for an event, whether it’s an out of state hunting trip or a beach/cruise trip. If you want to drop 20-30# in a month, then it’s the diet for you.

once you get off the sugar and grain , it is amazing how little you feel hungry getting there those first few weeks the cravings can be strong , sugar and these grains make you crave more. always more
