Look into a less popular size, and larger quantity. There are options!

They finally came down a little. They were 5.25 a month ago.

They were $7.99 a dozen for Large eggs here a couple days ago and the shelves were nearly empty.

we go to a store that sometimes on Sunday evening checks all the egg cartons and a dozen with a broken on in the pack is maked down to 99 cents

I remember 2 to 3 years ago getting a dozen jumbo eggs (pink carton) at Wal Mart for .92 cents. They're now almost $6.00 a dozen. I don't eat eggs very often now.
GCP I wish we had someplace that marked them down like that around here.

Aldi is sometimes better if you have access to one

If there are any Amish near you, try them out. I paid $2.00 a dozen a month ago. Their brown eggs.

Inflation
avian flu
supply and demand-Egg nog season.

We are averaging nine eggs a day right now from our small flock. We currently have eight dozen in the frig and have given away many dozens to friends and family. I told the wife she should start selling them at work. She's going to make big batches of red beet eggs instead and give most of them away.

Real food has been underpriced since forever. Buy ya some baby chicks, don’t forget feeders/waterers, feed, fencing, bedding etc. Then go sell yer eggs for $2 dozen. Nevermind a single 20oz bottle of Pepsi is $2. $4 for a dozen eggs…should be higher.
