But this photo is just about the most ironic thing ever. This happened about 60 miles from me. Honestly not a huge surprise. Have heard stories of numerous farm animals ending up in the bar from time to time. Dad said he threw more than one greased pig into the bar during his youth

We had pet raccoons and crows , skunks you can almost name the wild pets we had as kids.
Chipmunks , squirrels , woodchucks , rabbits, anything we found as kids back in the 50's early 60's.

I like her mugshot. Wearing a got freedom shirt.

I had just got home from work and was in the shower. Wife was not home I dont remember why. I hear a womans voice, in the kitchen hollering anybody home. I wrrapped a towel around me and opened the bathroom door to see a friend of my daughter. They are both grown. Mid thirties when this happened. I asked her what she was so wound up about she just walked in the house. She had a cell phone in her hand and daughter was on the other end telling me she told her to go in since my truck was parked out back. Had a box with a still nursing kitten coon in it. Its eyes were open but I doubt they had been open more than a day or two. Says I brought you a pet. This was my daughters idea of a practical joke telling her I would be happy and excited with a baby coon. So I get dressed and drive the three blocks to the game wardens house. He was mowing his lawn and not real happy I was bothering him with this on his day off. Told her where an animal rehabilitator was. She wouldn't tell him where she got it but her husband trims trees out of power lines for a living. Game warden said I could kill it or she could drive the thirty miles to the rehabilitators. I didnt really want to kill it so she left with it. I never did hear for sure what she did with it.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)
