I wasn't going to trap this year but a family of beaver moved in up the road and the township wanted them gone. So I set a few traps out and cought them. Well I was coming up out of the creek area one morning and a truck pulled in behind mine. Fellow got out of his truck and said are you trapping them beavers? A little hesitant thinking I was gonna deal with some beaver saving tree hugger I said yes I am why? He started telling me a bunch of stories about his trapping days and how his health wouldn't let him any longer. He asked if I'd be interested in buying his trapping supplies or knee someone who would be. Told me he has multiple traps and stuff. I said well I might be interested. I bought everything from him yesterday for a 100 dollar bill.

Might be nice to ask him if he wants to go with you once in awhile. You might even get some new ground to trap.

Maybe the old guy was a bandit and you got some "hot" traps.
Seems inexpensive for what you got.

Hard to say. He might have figured the extra room in the garage is worth more than the equipment since he's no longer using it. I like the idea of asking him along, you might learn something or find a few more places to trap.

Good deal. Sometimes people just want to see someone get some use out of something they no longer can do or use. I bet the guy would get a kick out of you stopping buy his place show him the beaver you caught.
