Not that I'm aware of. Been pretty wet out here Thank Heavens. Were still in an extreme drought though.

Honestly, Yes more than likely. A fire can burn for months or years under ground. Unfortunately, a couple of wildfires that occurred this year were started by piles that were burned months before and carried over through winter. All it takes is one ember to live.

Bob all the wild land fires we had around here were successfully put out long before the snow set in .
There are some slash piles getting burned / cleaned up and a few wheat stubble fields also
