While talking to my Dad last night he and I got on a roll about trapping and memories and the cal ran form the usual 5 to 10 mins to over and hour.

I got to thinking of a podcast type idea with my, my Dad and my old trapping partner answering or going over questions that were submitted or some of the age old trapping questions. I thought it would be a lot of fun for us and possibly spread our assorted and accumulated trapping knowledge.

What do y'all think?

I don't know if many of you remember the old talkshoe podcast type thing way back when. I am wondering if I could do something like that, maybe get guest speaker and stuff too

I am always interested in learning "how it use to be done". My grandfather is still alive and I am always excited to hear him talk about hunting and dogs. I would listen.

I think it would be a great idea.

I recall doing that very thing back in 2008, The Boss was on the line too but I don't remember who was hosting it

Then have people join in on the show and also upload it to a handful of platforms trapperman, YouTube, etc

just documenting it all would be worth your time , sharing it would be great.

hearing it from their mouths , get video with good audio , just use the audio side as a podcast.

my grandpa told me a lot of his stories I remember a lot of them I wish I had gotten more of my great uncles or thought to get any recorded

I'm guessing you could make it work. With all the ways to communicate now where everyone doesn't have to be in same room. Little outline for topic and you be good to go. Campfire chatting story line.

Just have to remember most these trappers would rather still be cranking their phone on wall. Only have cell phone because someone crammed it down their throats. LMAO
Might even be a subject to talk about. Shunning technology.. first broadcast of show done on AM radio ease over to the net not shock anyone.. LMAO..

Seriously though it could work. I've always enjoyed our few sit and visits found them interesting.

Podcasts are actually more popular than ever and growing in popularity. They take some work to do it right, and there's a pretty small pool of people (trappers) who would be potential listeners, but if you want to have fun with it, I say go for it.

People want to listen to them while they are driving mostly, keep that in mind when you consider how to format it.
