I'd like to hear the thoughts from some seasoned cat trappers out there on their preferred length of time they let a set work before they pull it and find another location.I've been going at it steadily since the opener here in Idaho, I've got 32 sets I'm checking every 3 days, sometimes I'll check em after two days. Our season opened the 14th of December and runs until February 14th. I caught two smaller cats the first two days of the season and have had a couple traps set off. I'm mainly running all walk throughs with a few modified cubby/walk through sets. The weekend of Christmas we had two pretty big snowstorms back to back where I noticed I had cats extremely close to a few of my sets but just didn't commit. It was nearly blizzard like conditions so maybe they just couldn't pin point the sets due to everything being covered in 6+ inches of snow and the wind ripping through the canyon. The snow has all receded and been melted off with rain, how often should I re-lure my sets after rain? I'm using gland, urine and bait but I've noticed they definitely don't have the same kick after a drizzley day of rain. I'm running about a 17 mile stretch of canyon on the Snake River and setting in most draws that are accessible that come down. Curious to hear some opinions, leave them where they are and keep re-luring/baiting or pull em and find another location?
