Gibbs i just had freezing rain and snow like you two weeks ago.. A friend used a skid steer and of course chain saw to open up trails on trapline. Like you said branches froze into ground as freezing rain coated trees and toppled them and then froze to ground and then it snowed. Wasnt fun cutting trails open. Some will stay till spring like you said. Stihl saw got a workout as this 78 yr old trapper. Safe working on your line... wait till spring on open water trapping. Still work but somewhat easier.

You know the old phrase about patches on blue jeans was " a patch beside a patch was neighbourly but a patch on a patch is poverty "
now with that canoe there Jim ....a patch on a patch....is that for sure a northern Ontario poverty beaver trapper

only thing missing was the late black flies

It is funny how some newly purchased cottage owners bring a fiberglass canoe into the garbage dump ......they have about a 5 minute life cycle there.
the keeper is a trapper and has many friends with remote lakes to take care of.

When there was bad fire in NW Ontario a couple of years ago and they looked at all the Aluminum boats burnt in remote alkes they found 90% were stolen based on the steel vin card on the boat
