What do you wear when it gets chilly? I hate the heavy coveralls anymore so I've gone with longjohns under jeans and nylon bibbies from NiteIite so I can remove layers as it warm up.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

I still like Carhart bibs. Last forever. Polypropylene longjohns, wool socks, thinsulate boots and gloves.

Right now my outer layer has to be FR. I've got an FR coat but I just don't feel like paying a chunk of money for FR insulated bibs. So I've been wearing longjohns under my work jeans and shirt. My outermost layer is the "tater sack" FR coveralls and coat.
Works pretty well except on the really windy days which are miserable no matter what.

I wear as many layers of sweatpants as is needed and jeans over top. Sometimes up to 4 pairs of sweat pants. And if it’s REALLY cold, bibs over that.

as soon as I get feeling cool a sweat shirt or thicker shirt or quilted flannel are the first things to add next is probably a wool cap and some gloves often just leather I wear wool socks almost year round because they seem to handle moisture better than cotton , and my feet are going to sweat. these are the long underware these https://www.farmandfleet.com/produc...pedition-weight-poly-fleece-bottoms.htmlit is amazing when you start layering how comfortable you can be especially while moving and if you can break the wind if I am still cool then the long underware top against the skin as an under layer to the sweatshirt by doing thin layers it is easier to keep able to easily move and get work done or hunt insualated gloves coat would be next insulated boots and insulated bibs would be for sitting or very cold and it is time for the choppers on the hands it all gives you options and you can shed layers and add layers as needed sometimes if you are moving arms a lot bibs but with no coat I keep thinking about adding a vest but they seem to want a lot $$ for a vest that has good pocket config and some insulation, now that I have the Dan's chaps as just with the brush busters realize how well it cuts the wind I am thinking of one of their coats that isn't insulated or the night eyes coats. I have an older orange coat that I bought used with the liner missing that does well at cutting the wind , I just don't always want to be a pumpkin

depends on the situation, if working I can stay pretty warm without lots of extra clothes. I do prefer bibs/parka over coveralls...

Flannel lined denim jeans or polypropylene long underwear bottoms. Polypropylene long sleeved underwear shirt on top. Insulated bibs if it's real cold.
