green coon avg the same as finished? thats odd It has always been that way at this auction, Danny. There have been a few times when green price has exceeded finished. One reason for this is there is an Amish buyer who probably buys more coon than anyone else. He has 12 kids that can put up fur, thus he has no labor costs so can pay a little more!

This day in age, those aren't terrible prices.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I suspect that the skinning machine guys don't mind a $4.50 ave on green coon, although pushing that average up closer the a $10 bill mark would make more people smile.
Anybody know what the Amish buyer does with the coon hides he buys? Wall hangers for retail crafts outlets that sell other Amish made stuff??
The FHA auctions might surprise people this year. With so much uncertainty and multiple years of low prices driving production down, the prices might be higher than people think if some end users are scrambling for materials or at least squirming a bit . Perhaps just wishful thinking...
