I need to get out, before the flatlanders stat looking I actually haven't been looking for sheds, it's the 'blind pig finding an acorn' truism.

Bass1, nice find. It good to see there will be some mature bucks on Tug Hill next fall. Especially with the super mild winter we are experiencing so far.
How goes the hare hunting ?

Hare hunting has been good, many places I hunt Showshoes have very little snow cover so...easy to see them. I hunt with a scoped .22 and normally in the late afternoon, seems to be the best time for them. I don't know if you are familiar with Black Pond but it is my preferred area for white hare. I would have preferred to PM you this info but you don't accept PMs.

Especially with the super mild winter we are experiencing so far. With the deer population being so low in the areas where I hunt and found these sheds, I'd say these bucks are roaming in a fairly large area just to find does. The bucks who dropped these sheds may never be in these areas again.

I like to get out just after the last snow is gone. All grass and weeds are flattened down. I also prefer shed hunting on cloudy days, less shadows.

I do find most sheds in early spring turkey season. Most of the snow is gone, the flora is still flat, and the antlers are easier to see, especially in contract to the brown forest floor. Right now, here in the Tug Hills (part of them), we have very little snow cover, so this has been to my advantage. Also I have been out hunting more this winter as I retired in November so have extra time to be out and about.
