I've been on Xarelto for ten years , have run a knife thru, my hand cut my finger almost off with a table saw , and many more cuts and bumps , without a problem , try getting off of it and in three weeks had blood clots in both lungs [Linked Image]

i will be on them the rest of my life

Been on Eliquis for many years. Had blood clots in the lungs during pneumonia.
Was instructed that if I have a serious blow to the head one has to have a cat scan of the area immediately.
Brain bleeds equal to a stroke is possible. Cuts heal at a normal rate but always carry band aids for those
senior moments.

( Well, I knew something was wrong )
They admitted me me and then took me by ambulance to Christ Hospital in downtown Cincinnati, where I under went surgery to remove those clots, that, if had broken free, could have either caused a stroke or ended my life. I was released after a week of being in the hospital.
Today I am on two types of blood thinners, Plavix and Eliquis, and I have a stint in the shape of a Y.
One thing about it, I don't want to cut myself shaving again. . .

I still trap, but I'm very careful about what I do.

Glad you are doing well. I never had a beard before but grew the beginnings of one when recovering in the hospital. It's really grown now and just trim it. No shaving. Trapping? Weasel boxes close to the road...low maintenance and fun.

Dr told us to have my wife take a baby aspirin every day, when we came home from the hospital after her bad stroke.
To help prevent another stroke

I take xarelto, it is expensive, cost me about $150 per month and I think the insurance pays around $300 per month.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.
