Had one of my coilspring traps stolen off the stake tonight... big catch circle, no blood, no trap... I'm thinking maybe coyote but idk... gonna see if I can get my hands on a coyote call and try to find a coyote with a new shoe! Thing that kinda sucks about it is that I don't have very many traps to replace it with, so I really want this one back lol

Just learn from it so it doesn't happen again is really all you can do. Staking is often a problem for newer trappers. It happens to about everyone.

Happened to me once when I was first starting out. I staked for fox and snagged a coyote. Now I always stake for coyote on land sets no matter what I’m trying to catch. Good luck. I never got mine back

It's important to look over each trap prior to and during the season to make sure something like this doesn't happen. Figure out why it happened and do whatever it takes to prevent this from happening again. I doubt you will be able to call it it but it's worth a try.

I had a homemade pogo (cable) fail a few years ago and an mb550 walked off with what I believe was a deer. No catch circle and deer tracks close by. I dug it up and found the pogo. Spose I messed up the cable driving it in or I damage it pounding the ferrule on while making it. I felt sick about it for a while.
