Bus3 OP trapper B Joined: Jan 2022 Posts: 54 Minnesota	The drone being used would have a thermal IR camera with zoom. It would be a DJI M30T. The odds of finding the deer are very good with IR. Brush and all that will not matter as much when flying at night using IR. Turtledale they say the deer will still emit enough thermals 48hrs after the shot. I know people could use a dog but then all that traffic going thru your property will definitely disturb the deer more than what the drone would do. With the drone you can just walk straight into where your deer is instead of grid searching by foot.

BTW NO I wouldn't pay $600.00 to do it. I can buy a lot of beef, pork and chicken for that. Also there's no guarantee on the success of finding the deer. I"d do everything I could to recover deer by hiking my butt all over the hills but I'm not paying for a drone to do it.

(Disturb the deer more) smh.. how do you sleep at night worrying about someone poaching (your) deer. As to the drone it would be handy in a situation I guess but 600$ is retarded.

Par for the course is vague poorly written regulation , completely up to the interpretation of the individual warden. much like our you may only use a light at point of kill. so say you saw a fox in the moon light , you pulled up and flicked on your light , something caused you to feel the shot was unsafe the animal spooked and ran before you could get a shot , now you used a light without killing , thus broke the law , see my point on poorly written. America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

In my opinion, if ya make a bad shot, which anyone that hunts enough will, it should make you feel crappie. Hopefully then you put in more practice and don’t take such poor shots. Unfortunately, in todays world many believe they can just buy skills, and not have to actually put in the time to earn them.. Long live the MAGA King
